Who We Are
Real people. Real beliefs.
Northeast Christian Church is led by a team of pastors and elders who call Tewksbury home — proudly affiliated with the Assemblies of God, and glad to welcome people from every corner of the whole body of Christ.
Pastoral & Support Staff
Meet the team
Dr. Paul Conway

He previously served as a Bible professor at Northpoint Bible College and spent a decade with Inner City Ministries in Providence, RI. He's married to Diana, and they have two sons.
Rev. David Munley

He's a graduate of Northpoint Bible College (BA) and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (MATS), and spent 16 years at Northpoint in faculty and administrative roles. He's married to Jennifer; they have three adult children and five grandchildren.
Josiah Smith
Associate Lead Pastor
A third-generation pastor with over 15 years of experience as a church planter and lead pastor, Josiah has devoted his life to expanding God's Kingdom and equipping Christ's Church. Outside of ministry, he enjoys teaching, music, sports, and the outdoors.
Elaine Gauvreau
Director, Church Operations
Elaine, a Lowell native, is the backbone of our church operations team. She partners with the leadership team to ensure that the teams are working together towards the same mission. When she's not keeping things moving, she enjoys spending time in Maine with her family.
Mary Evelyn Cesar
Worship Pastor
Leading worship at NECC since 2021, Mary Evelyn brings over 20 years of worship leadership experience from Louisiana, Illinois, and Massachusetts. Her heart is to see the body of Christ experience freedom in worship. She's married to Welson and they have two children.
Gayle Provost
Children's Pastor
Born and raised in the New England area. Gayle is currently in the process of obtaining her degree in ministerial studies with a focus on child development. When she's not focused on growing the next generation at the church, she's focused on her family at home.
Kayla Davidson
Youth Pastor
A New England native pursuing a B.A. in Ministry at Gordon College, Kayla leads NECC's volunteer teams in youth ministry. When she's not at the church, you'll likely find her on the lacrosse field.
Kevin Destin
Youth Pastor
Born and raised in Boston, Kevin graduated from Northpoint Bible College in 2016 and oversees NECC's Youth Ministry while teaching and mentoring students in the Lowell school system. He's a husband to Michelle, a father to Loni and Honor, and enjoys boxing in his free time.
Ps. Dick Bertrand
Legacy Pastor
For over three decades, Ps. Dick served as a pastor at Lowell Assembly of God. His faithfulness and heart for people to know Jesus has shaped the life of Northeast Christian Church. He currently leads Jacob's Well, a ministry to the often overlooked and under-resourced in the region.
Our Elders
Leaders and shepherds
Elders serve as the leaders, shepherds, and examples to our church community — representing both men and women called by the Lord, with proven character and commitment, to lead our local expression of Christ's body. We believe that both women and men are qualified for eldership in the Church.

What We Believe
Our doctrinal statement
Proudly affiliated with the Assemblies of God, and welcoming people from every corner of the whole body of Christ.
- The Bible
- We believe that God has inspired the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments as the record and means of his saving work in the world.
- God
- We believe in the triune God as sovereign creator of all things.
- Mankind
- Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creation.
- The Fall
- We believe mankind has fallen from the perfect state in which God created them, and that all human beings are sinners by nature and choice.
- Jesus
- We believe that God's Word became flesh in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, born of the virgin Mary. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man — salvation and redemption are found only in him.
- Holy Spirit
- After Jesus rose from the dead he ascended into heaven, and his Spirit descended on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit equips, empowers, and sanctifies God's people.
- Salvation
- We believe salvation was birthed in the plan of God from all eternity, as God willed to graciously save a great multitude of guilty sinners from every tribe, language, people, and nation.
- The Church
- We believe the universal church is manifested in local churches, of which Christ is the only Head. Each local church is the Church — the household of God, the assembly of the living God, and the pillar and foundation of the truth.
